Introduction to Weaving

Methods of Weaving on a Rigid Heddle Loom.

If you've always wanted to begin weaving at home or you enjoy weaving but find the larger looms impractical for whatever reason, this workshop may well be what you are looking for. Learn the art of weaving fabric using a simple, two harness rigid heddle loom. In this two day beginning workshop you will learn how to warp and dress a loom to make a 13" x 26" table runner. This simple and practical loom is large enough to weave a wide range of projects including placemats, napkins, dish towels, shawls and many more woven items. We pass on the proven methods handed down through generations of weavers so you can begin weaving at home.

Our project for this class will be taken from the book, Hands-On Rigid Heddle Weaving by Betty Linn Davenport. This book is included in the materials cost for this class. We will also have kits available for several other weaving projects detailed in the book. The use of a loom is included in the materials fee. We have looms for sale if you wish to purchase your own.
