Practical Flower Gardening

Learn how to establish and maintain a flower garden.

Through hands-on instruction in our herb garden, you will learn the difference between annual and perennial plants; the best plants to choose for spring, summer, fall or winter bloom; a southern flower bed design for full sun or partial shade; and how to grow and use hardy Texas native plants. We also discuss other topics such as how flower gardens attract beneficial insects that help pollinate herb and vegetable plants.

This class will involve some outdoor activities. Please bring a wide-brimmed hat and wear long sleeves. Also, bring appropriate clothing for cold or inclement weather. No shorts or sandals, please.
